I was born in the second house from the left; they could well have been my nappies!!. These houses were demolished a couple of years after I was born and my family and I moved to Tupton. The pit had been closed in the previous decade but was still standing. Someone has superimposed a pit wheel and chimney for effect, but I think it spoils it a little.
